A DAY ONE; SEAP INDUCTION SEMINAR

A day one of the Structured Engineers Apprenticeship Programme (SEAP) Induction Seminar, organized by the erb_tz took place today, November 19, 2024, at the PSSSF Commercial Complex in Dar es Salaam.
The seminar, which is scheduled to be held from 19th to 20th November 20, aims to equip 513 graduate engineers who have recently joined the SEAP.
The program is designed over 21 years to help graduate engineers gain the professional experience required for qualifying as Professional Engineers, in line with the Engineers Registration Act. This structured training enables them to meet the necessary criteria for registration within the minimum time specified by the Act.
The Induction Seminar is designed to equip trainees with the skills, knowledge, and attitudes they need as they embark on their engineering careers. A day one covered essential topics such as an overview of the SEAP, the professional registration process, an introduction to the ERB's Management Information System, and discussions on combating corruption within engineering practice.
ERB Board Chairman Eng. Menye Manga, Adv., officiated the seminar and emphasized the importance of acquiring new skills to adapt to the fast-evolving technological landscape in engineering. Eng. Manga urged the participants to focus on continuous learning and innovation, which are key to advancing both their careers and the engineering profession as a whole.
“Technology is transforming the engineering field, and it is essential to stay ahead of these changes,” he said. The SEAP Induction Seminar is designed to provide the graduate engineers with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in their careers and contribute to the growth of Tanzania’s engineering sector.
